Organic Tides No. 02 explores movement, erosion, and form through layered watercolor and paint, creating a composition that feels at once geological, weathered, and quietly otherworldly.

Built from overlapping forms in soft white, mineral gray, warm sand, and subtle earth tones, the piece gathers into an irregular structure against a deep black field. Layers of translucent watercolor meet more substantial passages of paint, allowing areas of softness, texture, and opacity to exist alongside one another. Openings and dark spaces move through the form like fissures, cavities, or places gradually carved away by the elements.

A subtle pearly sheen moves through portions of the surface, responding gently to changes in natural and ambient light. At different angles, these passages emerge and recede, bringing an additional sense of depth and life to the otherwise restrained palette.

From a distance, the form can suggest stacked stone, weathered earth, fragments of bone, drifting material, or layers shaped by water and time. Up close, the character of the materials becomes more apparent as the visible canvas, translucent washes, roughened edges, areas of pooling pigment, textured paint, and delicate shift between cool gray and warm mineral tones.

There is both fragility and weight within Organic Tides No. 02. The individual forms appear suspended and almost eroded, yet together create something substantial and grounded as though the piece captures a formation still in the process of being shaped by movement, pressure, water, and time.
