Primitive Rhythm No. 01 brings together bold elemental form with meticulous repetition. A deep red form emerges against a rich burgundy field, intersected by thousands of individually drawn white marks that move horizontally across the canvas.

Each line is drawn by hand, one at a time, gradually building into dense fields of rhythm and movement. Subtle variations in length, spacing, and placement preserve the evidence of the hand, while the repetition creates a visual language that feels almost woven—part pattern, part landscape, part instinctive mark-making.

From a distance, the piece is graphic and commanding, defined by its restrained palette and strong geometry. Up close, its character shifts as the individual marks, intersections, canvas texture, and hours of intricate handwork become visible.

The contrast between the monumental simplicity of the central form and the extraordinary accumulation of small marks gives Primitive Rhythm No. 01 its sense of tension, movement, and quiet complexity.
